Chapter One
The Power of Controlling Your Emotions
(Power One)

Of course the author will start off with the hardest power to learn, but one that will be one of our best lessons when it comes to men.

Men are led by sex, women are led by emotions. Not a shocker.. right? Even though it's not a bad things to be led by emotions, it must be controlled to make appropriate decisions. Why is this? Well you're giving a man more power when you lead by your emotions. This isn't being selfish, it's doing the same thing a man does. Every. Day. 

Men know how to lie and manipulate. They know how to mess with our minds and hearts. Why do you think we have such a gut feeling? And it's always right... 

You think it's a coincidence why you attract the players, losers and cheaters over and over again? It's not... it's us women using our emotions the wrong way and learning to trust and love too soon. Not every man is like this, but many men are like this and it will suck you dry. 

Listen to your head, not your heart. This is done by controlling our feelings, instead of straight reacting to them. This isn't the era of romance. It's the era of being the boss and calling the shots. You can't forgive the player and think you did something wrong. 

As the author states, "Allowing our emotions to influence our actions and decisions is what gets us into trouble." 

She then goes to talk about controlling your emotions at the end of relationships, since that is the harder pill to swallow. Ugh, I can remember my last break-up. The tears, the questions of what happened -- why me, the loss of control and no closure. The feeling of wanting to be fought for and begging for my forgiveness ---  but knowing the whole time he was bad for me. In the short term, yeah that would make me and any other woman "feel better" for the meantime, but that's stupid. He ain't good... And that is what she means by controlling your emotions. Strong women (in which I really think I am in this category) screw up by making decisions because of loss of control with their emotions. Our hearts yearns for the attention, our heads say "HELL NO"!

We ALL have those friends that we shake our head at that take this loser back over and over! The "love story" that will never end well. 

The EASY PART: Recognizing when you're reacting to emotion. 

Your heart is telling you you're making a crappy decision. All the bullshit you're taking from this man in your life. Of course your friends and family see this, but it goes in your ear and out the other. So now you've recognized this flaw you have, so time to control it. 

The HARD PART: Controlling your reaction.

You know you have these emotions. They won't stop, but you have the free will to control them. YOU are the one in control. YOU are in CONTROL.

The HARDEST PART: The feelings are still there and they really hurt.

You're heartbroken. You literally feel your heart breaking. You will feel pain. You will feel sadness, but you are still in control. Do other things to keep you busy. So on to the next part.

HELP for a BROKEN HEART

You're hurting, so treat your broken heart like a cut on your skin... It will hurt and might hurt for awhile -- but then it does start to go away. Maybe not our time schedule, but it will. I remember I couldn't eat, I started drinking more, I stayed sleeping cause I didn't want to wake up from my dreams and realize what had happened --- but I did it. 

I did it because I knew no matter what happened in the future, I didn't want to repeat this cycle. Tigers don't change their stripes and it was time to move on.

The MOST IMPORTANT PART: You have to get distracted. 

Do SOMETHING. Some type of hobby. Anything that doesn't involve calling the one who caused you pain. It will be the best feeling when you realize no man will ever have that control or power over your feelings. 

The book then goes on to summarize sections. For this section it was reviewing on how to control emotions.

1. Women react on emotions. This is what makes us great mothers and caretakers. There is nothing bad about this, but we must know when we have to control it for our benefit.

2. Only make decisions based from your head, not your emotions

3. Understand the emotions, feelings, pain will be there

4. But you're not gonna give into your emotions, because you are in control -- no one else.

5. You're skin is still cut. You have to give it time to heal, same with your emotions. Leave it alone until it gets better.

6. And most important make yourself busy with other things. Be too "busy" for a loser.

Now onto a little bit more this chapter has to offer. 

If he fucked up in a manner that is not forgivable, just run. He lost YOU. That's it. You're allowed to have FILLER DATES. You aren't using anyone, you're getting back into the game. It's also nice to have that feeling that someone admires you. Remember men aren't as complex as us. Why? Well we have a vagina and at the end of the day, they all want to be in it. (This is the book talking, but hey I feel the same way pretty much as well). You don't owe them anything though, don't ever feel like you do. 

And make a list. The "Things I Hate About You" list. Write it ALL down. I remember my friend giving me this same advice. She had me write down the negatives and positives. Surprisingly there were many more negatives. She was right. He was an asshole. 

Now here's the easier one -- Controlling Emotions in the Beginning of Relationships. 

I have to say -- that's where I do good. I will wait for the good morning texts without giving them. Cause if a man likes you, he will pursue you. It's ok to flirt some. Do not pursue. Period...

The thrill of the chase is true. Though men fear rejection, they will work their asses off to get what they want if they want you. 

So here are the reasons the book gives on why you must control your emotions when meeting a new guy or in the beginning of a relationship.

1. Men hate it when they can't read what you're thinking. Make him wonder. Make him work. 

2. Men aren't like women where it's, "You like me, I like you." They want to hunt, it's thrilling. Stay flirting, but don't run after him. Don't worry if he likes you, he will be there. 

3. "Only fools rush in." Oh Lord really? You know those friends that are in love after date 2? Come on now. This isn't the movies. Be happy, be excited -- but damn control your shit. Slow down. Take it easy and play hard to get. 

Make this promise to yourself. "You must promise yourself that from this day forward you are taking responsibility for YOUR actions. If you look back and say, "What the hell was I thinking?" That's not his fault -- it's yours. Maintain composure over your feelings and don't let them rule your actions. 

This is such a wonderful tool that will keep you in control... Whether you're saying by to an ex or starting off with a new guy you enjoy... 

"Remember, a confident woman still feels pain, still wants to call the guy she likes, but she doesn’t. She controls those emotions, and therefore, controls the relationships she has with men."

Intro of the Power of the P*ssy by Kara King!



Power of the P*ssy by Kara King has totally changed the way I view dating, men and relationships. I believed I followed this advice in the past few months, but unfortunately things didn't pan out. I decided to re-read this book and to share what I have learned. This book is modern, crude, real and does not play by the rules us ladies want. It's tells it how it is.

This book discusses 12 "secret powers" that us women need to use for our advantage. We have all been through bad relationships and asked, "Why me?" It does happen and what better than to end this crazy cycle? I know I need help! Why is it so rare to have the fairytale? Knowledge is power, so it's time to get to reading!

Some women naturally have this knowledge, some don't -- including me. Therefore I tend to fall for the wrong men. It makes me believe all men are pieces of shit (cheaters and liars), but it's time to believe there really are good men out there.

There's two main challenges: recognizing a good man, but you have to be the type of woman that makes him want to be your good man back.

I love how the author is so blunt and honest!

Full Time Beachbody Coach!

My Beachbody Transformation -- Emotionally!




I was chatting with a girlfriend yesterday. She's actually a new friend of mine from Tampa, where I used to live. We never knew one another until I came back and visited. 

She said, "I am so glad I met you! You are such an awesome person! You care about others & you are genuine....that is rare these days. I appreciate those qualities."

If you met me 3+ years ago, you probably wouldn't have sent me this message. Though I can tell you I never did things to hurt people intentionally, I never did anything to directly help others either. I had a lot of growing up to do and for a time was very vulnerable to be liked and loved, I chose the wrong path.

I hurt others on the way. I didn't mean to do it, but I obviously did. You never want to see someone self-destruct so you naturally go away from those people. The people that stick around are usually the wrong ones. Therefore drama would fill my life.

In 2014, I have completely gotten rid of baggage. I just can't do it anymore. If you're not going to give value to my life and it's a constant battle of, "Is this person gonna judge me? Is this person gonna attack me?" I don't need you and frankly you don't need me.

I found Beachbody back in 2010. I was not ready for something like this. I made EVERY EXCUSE.

1. "I can't complete an at home workout in its entirety."
2. "I could use this money for something else."
3. "I don't have enough time."

1. I absolutely could complete a workout. I just didn't want to.
2. I absolutely could invest that amount in a business, but I just didn't want to.
3. I absolutely could fit in time. If I had enough time to go shopping or out drinking, I could work my business. But again, I just didn't want to..

I don't know exactly what happened. I am not and will never be like, "OMG BEACHBODY SAVED MY LIFE." That sounds cultish to me. I am just not that Coach and I will never be like that. It's WAYYYY too much for me.

Instead I let go of my FEAR, I let NEGATIVITY out of my head and I BELIEVED for just that moment in MYSELF.

And I went to the person who I would "hit up" about coaching and her support group she offered for this at home workout thing.

And I did it.

And I did it, but GOOD! I pressed play on that Sony DVD player... I did the grueling working and I blended a chocolate shake.

And I did it. Over and over again.

And here I am now...

Breast Augmentation Tips and Secrets PART ONE!



I get questions all the time from everyone who is contemplating about a breast augmentation.  Even the most conservative women out there have thought about an enhancement. Nothing on this subject surprises me more than the women who are not as educated on the surgery as they should be pre-op.

Ladies, this is a MAJOR surgery. You are put under anesthesia and there are many risk factors. We will get into those later, but I wanted to start off in how important it is to make an educated decision. I mean, I know how picky we are about our hairdressers, we need to be 10 times as picky on our Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.

So where should a woman start with their research?

I joined a forum called makemeheal.com and a couple others, but makemeheal.com seemed to be the most informative place. I got to ask all the questions that I wanted and look at all the threads. Some women that I believed were around the size I wanted, granted me access to see their picture. So go there NOW and make a free and private profile.

Things that I learned:

1.     Go to no less than THREE CONSULTATIONS, even if you think you found your doctor on consult one. They MUST be Board Certified in your state and you can look that up online. Doesn’t matter if they’ve done thousands of breast augmentations (which I will now refer to as BA) if they aren’t certified. You need to go to 3 to hear different opinions. Your best friends surgeon may not be the one you love.  I personally chose mine that none of my friends used for their BA.

2.     How do you know who is the right Surgeon for you? You just know. You get that feeling inside that he/she is honest and you are in the best hands. You know that you can ask a million questions and the/she won’t get annoyed with you. I visited my surgeon for an additional consultation because I was so nervous before I made my decision. And I even had a slight panic attack. He had to put me back on the chair and was totally understanding.

3.     Bring in pictures to your surgeon. Men have Playboys laying around. Use them. Seriously. Bring in three pictures. Boobs that are too small, too big and what you want yours to ideally look like post-op. DO NOT GET FIXED on, “I want to be a 34D.” First of all, 90% of women are actually wearing their wrong bra size. Many of us are wearing the wrong BAND size. A 34D is a “sister size” to a 32DD and a 36C. A 34D can look different on everyone. Height is a factor as well as your vision of really what a 34D looks like. Plus an implanted breast, isn’t that same as a natural breast. It just isn’t. I brought in exactly what I wanted and did not want my surgeon to do. Pre-op we decided on implants that could vary by 100cc. I could have woken up anywhere from 200cc – 300cc. I told him I trust his judgment and to go on the bigger side if he could and he listened.  Also there are different “profiles” of an implant. Your doctor will do your measurements so the width of the implant is as close to your real breast size. This has to be done correctly, of you risk rippling or an implant not fitting appropriately in the pocket.

4.     Going back to 90% of women wearing the wrong bra size, you need to go to Nordstrom to get measured. Nordstrom carries EVERY bra size… so they won’t “try” to fit you into the wrong size. Pre-op I thought I was a 34D… nope I was wrong, I was a 32DD. Makes a difference ladies! And the ladies who work there are super sweet. They knew I wasn’t going to buy that day, but were more than happy to help. Of course I came back post surgery!



So you signed up on makemeheal.com, picked your surgeon, got sized pre-op and are preparing your body for surgery… Another blog post to follow!

21 Day Fix Tips for Success



The 21 Day Fix might appear to be overwhelming at first with all these portion controlled colored containers but really that makes the program easier to complete! It takes the guess work out of calorie counting. You eat whatever fits in the container. Containers (shown below) are specific to certain food groups.

In your package, it also comes with a huge list of foods you can mix and match in each category. This really helps in case you're the type that likes a variety of  foods. You really won't get bored. The containers might appear smaller to your liking, but you'd be surprised how BIG they actually are once you mix everything together.

Now onto the workouts! Since the Fix goes in rounds of 21 days, you will have to work out everyday. Don't worry, the workouts are only 30 minutes a day! It's a mix of high impact cardio, low impact cardio, circuit training, Yoga and my favorite.... Pilates! So you really don't get bored. There's also a bonus ab workout too! That's primarily all it is to the Fix!! 

 TOP TIPS for SUCCESS on the FIX!

1. Do the workouts daily. If you think they're too easy, then up your weights. If it's cardio day, then add the bonus workout or do doubles if you have time. Remember you're working out DAILY so don't over-do it!
2. Pick a variety of foods from each food group so you don't get bored. Get enough for at least a week so you don't run out.
3. Anything that needs to be prepped or cut, do it the Sunday before you start the Fix. The good part is that you can prep/cut a big portion of food, then use your containers daily to separate it out if you don't want to separate it beforehand.
4. DO NOT. I repeat DO NOT take away containers. Do your BEST to incorporate them ALL. If you still feel just too full, do not take out a certain food group. Just lessen it. But try your BEST to follow the plan. The duty of creating this program is out of the way, don't try to change it!
5. DO NOT WEIGH. Truthfully MOST of my clients do NOT see much weight loss their first week and even sometimes in the second week... but I can tell you, they're losing inches and gaining lean muscle. How do I know? Because they report their clothes are fitting better. Try your best to hold off weighing until day 21.
6. Eat your carbs before 6pm. I usually make sure I still have half my protein and veggies allotted for the evening.
7. You get to drink WINE and certain alcohol. Do your BEST not to go over the amount.
8. Drink your Shakeology EVERYDAY. I recommend to do this for breakfast. I noticed getting that "chocolate" fix in the morning, that it curbs my cravings and fills me up. I personally drink mine with strawberries and a tsp of PB. Yup we can have peanut butter!
9. Come in this OPTIMISTIC. If you come in this with a negative attitude, just like everything else in life... you won't succeed. 
10. Make sure you participate in the 21 Day Fix Support Group, private on Facebook that I give to you for COMPLIMENTARY with the Fix Package. You'll continue to get the tools, accountability and group support and bonding that will help you complete your program.
